Dr. Michael Ong
MD. Co-Investigator, Department of Medicine, University of California at Los Angeles
Dr. Ong is one of 13 members on the California Tobacco Education and Research Oversight Committee, a legislative mandated advisory committee charged with overseeing the use of state tobacco tax revenues. He is a practicing general internist and health economist who specializes in the economics of tobacco control. His work in tobacco control focus on the impact of tobacco tax and smoke-free policy changes and smoking, including smoking cessation knowledge, attitudes, and practices among physicians in China. Dr. Ong will provide technical assistance and consultation, particularly in the policy aspects of the Helping Smokers Quit Project.
