Stella Aguinaga Bialous, RN, DrPH, FAAN

Dr. Stella Aguinaga Bialous is a native of Brazil, where she received her undergraduate education in nursing. She has a Master’s degree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University and a Doctor of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.  As the President of Tobacco Policy International, she consulted with many others in tobacco control policy and research. She is a senior consultant of the WHO Tobacco Free Initiative and for several other governmental and academic institutions. Dr. Bialous became an Associate Professor in Residence at the School of Nurisng, University of California San Francisco in 2014 and also President of the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC). She is internationally recognized, and has published extensively as an expert on tobacco industry monitoring and has developed policies to address tobacco industry interference with public health. 

Dr. Bialous has been collaborator with Professor Linda Sarna at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Nursing for many years; together they have been involved in capacity building of nurses in tobacco control, and have published widely in the area of nurses and tobacco control.
